Two courses of environmental laws and advocacy projects at Suleimanyah and Erbil on (Education principles and their impact on development of environmental conditions)

​Environmental laws and advocacy project have conducted two special courses under the name of (Education principles and their impact on development of environmental conditions) for two different groups of primary school teachers of Kurdistan Region at both cities of Suleimanyah (Abu Sana Hotel) and Erbil (Tangram Hotel) on 23rd -28th of August 2017, in which total of 34 teachers participated in both courses.

First day of the courses was dedicated to talk about the following issues (impact of water and sewage on human’s life, benefits of trees on environmental balance, environmental psychology, Guide to environmental laws in Kurdistan Region and impacts of vehicles on environment ) in addition to many other group works by participants presented by the skilled trainer civil engineer (Wrya Noori Khafaf).

The second day of both courses was presented by the skilled trainer (Mr. Ako Abudul Majeed Saeed- Manager of Vocational Education at General Directorate of Education Department in Suleimanyah) which addressed many issues, the most important of which was (behaviour, their attitude and characteristics, elements of behaviour changing and strategy of persuasion), in addition to many different environmental and educational activities, forming several groups and discussion on several matters by all participants, additionally the learners were familiarized with different methods of persuasion of individuals in order to improve the environment conditions of Kurdistan Region.

On second and the final day of both courses, certificates were given to participants; and they were given chances to talk about both days of the course as well as the knowledge and new techniques learned from the course. Their assessment to the course in general was very good, although they wished to extend the course duration so that they can get more information, to have perspective role in re-using the techniques and teaching methods, in order to define and analyse environment to students of their schools. By opening these two courses, the supporting project aimed to upgrade the level and skills of primary school teachers, to create a continues relationship between the supporting project and participated teachers, to follow up and visit their schools by the advocacy projects, to give some manuals and environment friend coloring book to students of the participated teachers in the course, to view impacts of the course on participated teachers, to talk about environment, to persuade their students on necessity to keep the environment clean, on contrary keeping the environment unclean is non-human action results in damage to health in spite of the economic damages.
