Nature Iraq in partnership with Water Rights Foundation funded by the European Union held the workshop for government environmental enforcement team members in Kurdistan (24-31/March/ 2015) to develop hands-on exercises at real sites that are a threat to public health and create a dialogue between Civil Society Organization representatives and enforcement staff.
The worshop focused on many subjects, it was started by giving an introduction on environmental inpections then, there was a presentation about public participation followed by groupworks. Also, the material that are covered are law compliance and enforcement in addition to case studies. The last day of the training was on-site visit and inspection practice on the field, the site visit was to Tanjero River and the landful site closeby. The workshop presenters are Riccardo Maetzke and Elisa Tachis from Water Right Foundation in cooperation with the Manager of Iraq Waterkeeper Environmental Law and Advocacy project, Shilan Aziz.
