Part of environmental law and advocacy project to follow up with illegal oil refineries in Tanjero area, site visit was conducted to Pasha Refinery, located close to Chaklawa Village nearby the Tanjero River. It process 125 ton of crude oil every day and produce (35% gas, 33% naphtha, 24% black oil, and 8% fuel for the refinery. It contains two lines for filtration. There about 27 illegal oil refineries that don’t have license to run so that they don’t pay taxes to the government including Pasha Refinery. Pasha refinery waste from the process is discharged directly through a canal to the river without prior treatment.
